Your body knows before your mind does
We’re only a few days into the Spring Feel Good Challenge and already I’m inspired by the nine amazing women who have said “yes” to stepping into their bodies — evolving through movement, thoughts, and emotions to feel great.
Something that keeps surfacing is the familiar mental chatter that old conditioning of “bad habits” or doing something “wrong.” We’ve been taught not to trust our own knowing, not to feel what is best for us.
One of my teacher’s favourite sayings is:
“You know, before you know, that you already know.”
Our bodies hold this wisdom long before the mind catches up. And then those ah-ha moments arrive, when the connection is made, and it just clicks.
Imagine if we sensed this more often, the ‘Ah-ha’, the ‘knowing’. Moving more often in this conscious, connected way- body and mind together, flowing as one. That’s presence. That’s unity. That’s consciousness. And it’s not rocket science, it’s actually really simple.
When we practice listening in, attuning, and moving from balance, something shifts. We begin to move from the inside out. And this internal practice doesn’t just stay on the mat it starts to shape the way we show up in our lives.
This is the heart of what I love sharing and it’s also the foundation of our upcoming 200hr Yoga Teacher Training. I’m thinking of it less and less as “teacher training” and more as a deep somatic awareness journey. A space to learn natural movement, to explore what it feels like to guide from presence, and to embody the ease that ripples into every part of your world.
Your body already knows. The practice is simply remembering.
With loving kindness, Han xxx
